Liberty Cozart Webster

Native of: Rowan County, NC
Employer: Omnicom

Industry: Digital Advertising

When you describe yourself as ambitious and caring, Rowan County could be the perfect place for you to live and thrive. Especially if you grew up here like Liberty Webster. Having recently moved back with her husband, she is already involved with the Rowan County Young Professionals group and is excited to see how much Rowan County has to offer.

“The town is developing so nicely,” she says. “It’s peaceful, everyone is so friendly,” and there are “great places to shop local!”

Webster attended Western Carolina University and studied sports management there. She moved to Charlotte to complete an internship with the Charlotte Hornets, met her husband, and currently works in digital advertising for Omnicom. She splits her time between working at home and commuting to Charlotte.

Part of the appeal of Rowan County is the many outdoor spaces available for leisure activities. An afternoon spent at New Sarum Brewing or High Rock Lake is a big draw for a dog mom like Liberty.  She’s hoping to catch the annual Rowan Chamber Dragon Boat Festival held at the lake this July.

Another charming aspect of Rowan County is knowing there is a rich history where you live. Webster loves attending the Historic Salisbury Foundation’s OctoberTour and appreciates the homeowners keeping history alive by opening their homes for the tour.

Webster’s favorite local event is The Cheerwine Festival; a fantastic downtown celebration which showcases the best of what Rowan County has to offer: fun, food, and music. Speaking of food, Liberty enjoys the variety that local restaurants provide like Mambo Grill, East Rowan Café and Hap’s Grill. She also loves a sweet treat from Abigail’s Bakery.

To Webster, being a Rowan Original means “taking the time to get to know the people in your area and genuinely caring for others.” She believes there is a strong sense of community here and that Rowan County has so much charm.
