Scott Ludwick is a Rowan County native who has spent his life immersed in the local community. He works for the City of Salisbury as the Parks and Recreation Recreation Specialist and attends the Parks and Rec events. You may have seen him at the DSI (Downtown Salisbury Inc.) events or marketing to downtown businesses. He enjoys attending local seminars and engaging with Leadership Rowan.
To Ludwick, being a Rowan County Original means “Being creative and open to new ideas, sharing ideas, and being supported in those ideas.” He describes himself as energetic, creative, personable, with a good sense of humor. Those qualities add up to someone who thrives on helping his community grow to its full potential.
Downtown Salisbury offers some of Ludwick’s favorite restaurants like Bangkok Downtown, City Tavern, and Wong’s Chinese Restaurant. Bell Tower Green is, of course, a favorite popular outdoor space and the annual Cheerwine Festival held in May is a highlight of the downtown events. But Ludwick also appreciates the events and festivals that other spots in Rowan County have to offer like the Autumn Jubilee at Dan Nicholas Park held every October and Farmer’s Day in downtown China Grove held every July.
The best part about Rowan County? It’s a “small-town feel with great people and a great community! [There are] just enough attractions to engage the community and surrounding areas.” He wants people to know that “from small towns come big ideas, great communities, and great people who care! Caring & helping is what it’s all about!” Rowan County offers all of that and more.
