What Is Dragon Boat Racing?
Dragon Boat racing is a tradition that dates back more than 2,000 years to Ancient China. The sleek boats are decorated with colorful dragon heads and tails and feature teams of paddlers working together in rhythm while a drummer keeps the beat from the front of the boat.
The races are fast-paced, energetic, and exciting to watch, making them one of the most unique sporting events in the region.
Over the years, the Rowan Chamber Dragon Boat Festival has grown into a major community tradition and one of the highlights of summer at High Rock Lake.
