Christina Clark

Daimler Truck
Native of Rowan County

Industry: Manufacturing

A Rowan County native and Daimler Truck employee, Christina Clark is no stranger to the small-town life and everything it offers. She especially appreciates Rowan County’s ideal location within the boundaries of NC because “we can make a day trip to the coast or mountains.” With all that the county has to offer, Clark loves that there is still a “small-town feel you get everywhere you go.”

Not only did Clark grow up here, but she also attended Catawba College and loves to participate as an alum in fundraisers and golf tournaments. She attends the Catawba football games as well as the local baseball games hosted at the college. Her work also provides her with a way to engage with the community through Daimler Truck’s Ride of Pride fleet that participates in local parades and functions.

Clark has enjoyed watching Rowan County grow over the years and recalls how adamant local businesses have always been about donating services to the community. She has special memories of smelling the bakery when driving downtown, shopping at the Belk store near the square, and seeing the star hung in the middle of the square at the Christmas parade. She is greatly looking forward to “watching my grandchildren grow up in the same place as I.”

What makes Rowan County stand out? According to Clark, “It’s a good place to start a family. People are friendly and there’s always something you can do regardless of age and needs.” Clark knows how important it is to support local restaurants and businesses. Her favorite eatery is Yummi Banh Mi in Salisbury. When the Downtown Salisbury plans events like the Friday Nights Out, Craft Beer Crawl, or Wine About Winter, Clark makes an effort to attend.

The Cleveland location of Daimler Truck where Clark works as a Manufacturing Process Definition and Improvement Analyst is the largest Freightliner Trucks manufacturing plant in the U.S. and produces Class 8 truck models, including the Cascadia, Argosy, Coronado, Columbia, Western Star 4700, Western Star 4900 and Cascadia Natural Gas. Clark appreciates that Daimler provides support to women in the manufacturing industry through W.I.N. (Women in Networking) and she says that it is “a great opportunity for mentorship in the workplace. I’m happy to be a part of this group.” You can find out more information about career possibilities at northamerica.daimlertruck.com/careers/

Being an original in Rowan County means not being afraid to be different. Clark recommends residents “use your own uniqueness to make a difference whether is supporting the community, a local restaurant or business, just be you. My experience here has always been welcoming and supportive. This includes personal and business.”
