Rowan EDC Annual Meeting Highlights Economic Momentum, Honors Community Leadership
The event, presented by F&M Bank, highlighted Rowan County’s continued success in attracting investment, supporting local industry, and strengthening workforce partnerships that help position the region for long-term prosperity.
Attendees heard from nationally recognized economic development strategist Ted Abernathy, who delivered the keynote address. Abernathy shared insights on national economic trends, workforce shifts, and strategies communities like Rowan County can use to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving economy.
A highlight of the program was the presentation of the Rowan Rockstar Award to Mike Miller of Miller Davis Agency, recognizing his outstanding leadership, community service, and continued support of the Rowan EDC and its mission to strengthen the local economy.
The annual meeting served as an opportunity to reflect on Rowan County’s progress while reinforcing the importance of collaboration between the private sector, local governments, education partners, and workforce organizations. These partnerships remain central to the Rowan EDC’s mission of reducing poverty, increasing prosperity, and improving quality of life throughout Rowan County.
