A Fleetwood Mac Candlelight Experience Comes to Salisbury
Some songs stay with us long after the final note. They become tied to particular people, places, and moments—and hearing them performed in an entirely new way can bring those memories rushing back.
This August, the music of Fleetwood Mac will fill First United Methodist Church in downtown Salisbury as Lumos Experiences presents an intimate candlelight tribute performed by a string trio.
With thousands of candles illuminating one of Salisbury’s distinctive churches, the concert will invite audiences to slow down and experience familiar songs like “Dreams,” “Landslide” and “The Chain” from a different perspective.

Creating Magical Nights Through Timeless Music
Lumos Experiences was built around a simple belief: Music should be felt, not only heard.
Its candlelight concerts reimagine timeless classics and modern favorites as intimate live performances. Programs range from classical composers like Vivaldi to contemporary artists and groups including Coldplay, ABBA and Beyoncé.
Rather than attempting to reproduce the sound of the original artists, the musicians give audiences an opportunity to hear familiar songs through classical instruments and arrangements.
Each performance is designed to bring people together, stir memories and demonstrate the emotional power of live music. As Lumos explains, music has the ability to connect, heal and bring joy—and each note can feel a little more meaningful in the glow of candlelight.
Venues Chosen for Their Character
The setting is an important part of every Lumos concert.
The organization chooses theaters, historic churches and other distinctive spaces for their character, charm and atmosphere. Once filled with the glow of candles, the venue becomes part of the performance rather than simply the place where it happens.
First United Methodist Church offers a fitting setting for the Salisbury concert. Located along South Church Street in downtown Salisbury, the church provides an intimate backdrop for an evening centered on reflection, nostalgia and live music.
The combination of its architectural character, candlelit atmosphere and the sound of a string trio will create an experience far removed from a traditional rock concert.
Fleetwood Mac Reimagined by Strings
For the Salisbury performance, a string trio will reinterpret 13 selections from Fleetwood Mac’s catalog.
The expected program includes:
- “Landslide”
- “Dreams”
- “Everywhere”
- “Go Your Own Way”
- “Gold Dust Woman”
- “Gypsy”
- “I Don’t Want to Know”
- “Little Lies”
- “Rhiannon”
- “Second Hand News”
- “The Chain”
- “You Make Lovin’ Fun”
- “Don’t Stop”
The selections span quiet, reflective ballads and energetic favorites recognized within their first few notes. Without vocals or a traditional rock arrangement, the melodies themselves will take center stage.
For longtime Fleetwood Mac listeners, the performance offers a new way to connect with songs that may have been part of their lives for decades. For newer fans, it is an opportunity to experience the band’s songwriting through an unexpected musical format.
Music That Gives Back
Lumos Experiences also uses its concerts to support causes beyond the stage.
Each month, the organization makes a donation to a selected charity. Supported causes have ranged from animal protection to organizations addressing global challenges.
That charitable mission allows each audience to become part of something larger while enjoying the beauty and connection of a live performance.
