American Eagle Outfitters to Invest $41 Million, Create 200 Jobs in Rowan County
The company will occupy a 472,890-square-foot facility at Innovation Logistics Center, located at 1415 Peeler Road in Salisbury. The facility is expected to begin operations in early 2027.
The new distribution center further expands Rowan County’s growing logistics and distribution industry while bringing new employment opportunities and private investment to the community.
Greg Edds, chairman of the Rowan County Board of Commissioners, said the company’s decision reflects the county’s continued momentum in attracting business investment.
“We are proud to welcome American Eagle Outfitters, an iconic apparel retailer recognized around the world, to Rowan County,” Edds said. “This new distribution center represents more than an investment in facilities — it is an investment in our people and our future. AEO’s decision to invest in our region reflects the strength of our community and the talented individuals who call Rowan County home.”
Salisbury Mayor Tamara Sheffield said the investment will support continued economic growth while creating new opportunities for residents.
“We are excited to welcome AEO to Salisbury,” Sheffield said. “The company will bring more than 200 jobs to the area, helping to grow the local economy and expand opportunities for residents. Investing in our community’s future remains one of the priorities of the City Council. We are excited for this partnership.”

The project was supported by Rowan County, the City of Salisbury, Duke Energy, the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, the North Carolina General Assembly, N.C. Commerce’s Division of Workforce Solutions, the North Carolina Community College System and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
