A Rowan County Tradition: The Woodleaf Tomato Festival Returns

by | Jul 14, 2026 | Attractions, Municipalities

Tomatoes have long been a cornerstone of Rowan County’s agricultural heritage. For more than a century, local farmers have grown tomatoes throughout the West Rowan community, making them an important part of our county’s history and culture.

This August marks the 18th Annual Woodleaf Tomato Festival, held each year at Unity Presbyterian Church in Woodleaf. The festival raises funds for church and community outreach efforts while celebrating Rowan County’s rich tomato-growing tradition.
